Our vision

We want our house to be a meeting place for people from all over the world who feel completely at home here and want to unwind from everyday life.

Whether that’s through scenic hikes in the Oetztal, action-packed outdoor activities, mountain biking, or simply relaxing with a book in the garden.

We’re proud to have welcomed guests from so many different countries here with us, such as the Netherlands, Israel, England, Switzerland, Iran, the UAE, Australia, the USA, Wales, Ireland, Spain, France, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, South Africa, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Poland, Ukraine, and my old home, Germany.

We want you to feel “at home” with us.

Our philosophy

Taking responsibility for this means, for us, going down a demanding—sometimes uncomfortable—path in order to live up to our philosophy.

Wanting to keep growing every day, so you can outgrow yourself.

We always want to be real and authentic, so we can give your holiday a wonderfully relaxed setting.

And when satisfaction turns into enthusiasm, we’ve reached our goal.

Guests among friends.
How seriously we take our philosophy has been especially clear in recent years—in times of a “crisis”.

We hope that in times like these, people will come together a little more and stand by each other.

We didn’t leave our guests out in the rain over the past few years and, right up to the end, made it possible to offer the greatest possible booking SECURITY in unpredictable times.

To ensure booking SECURITY for both sides after years of uncertainty, we’re especially pleased about our cooperation with the “European Travel Insurance” – as part of the booking process, our guests have a simple and straightforward way to insure their stay with us through travel insurance.

Our story

As “Haus Dorothee”, this house has welcomed guests from all over the world for many years.

In summer 2015, the then “landlord”, a carpenter, lovingly refurbished parts of the holiday apartments. Both in the living and bedrooms of the Meise and the Adler – he managed not only to preserve the charming flair and cosiness, but to enhance it.

When we bought “Haus Dorothee” in December 2016, what stood out to us most was the potential of this house.

With its unique location in Sautens, Bei Herrmann’s offers a peaceful setting while serving as the perfect base for exploring the Oetztal and beyond.

We started modernising in the very first month. On the one hand, we want to preserve the old charm of this house; on the other, through ongoing modernisations—of the house, the apartments, and the entire property—we want to adapt it to our guests’ needs.

We moved into our own apartment in summer 2017 after a few renovation measures and felt truly at home here from day one.

Even though the last few years have brought many new challenges, we don’t lose sight of our vision and we don’t let ourselves be discouraged from doing our very best.

Hi, I’m Jessica. A warm welcome to “bei Herrmann’s” – your holiday accommodation in Sautens, in the front Oetztal.

In 2009, I left my Baden home and moved to the Oetztal. Ever since, tourism in Tirol has impressed me—and of course especially in the Oetztal.

It was visionaries and pioneers who, less than a hundred years ago…..

Helping with Plan

Plan Logo

We’re grateful every day for what we have. Everyday things we no longer think about because they’ve become a given. For example:

  • Drinkable tap water
  • Solid walls and a roof over our heads
  • At least one toilet in the house
  • Free schooling
  • and so much more….

But not everyone in the world has this good fortune. We knew: we want to “give something back”. We researched for a long time to find an organisation we can stand behind 100%.

With PLAN INTERNATIONAL, we found that organisation.

In 2013, we took on our first sponsorship.

When we bought “Haus Dorothee” in December 2016, the idea immediately popped into my head: three holiday apartments = three sponsorships!

The idea was implemented quickly.

Because it’s a matter close to our hearts, we’d like to briefly introduce the project here.

Help that makes it through!

PLAN works transparently, manages resources responsibly, provides factual and truthful information, and has effective control and oversight structures. For this, the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) awarded PLAN INTERNATIONAL the donation seal.

TÜV Nord is also convinced by PLAN’s work: In the scope of “Satisfaction of sponsors and donors with the service and range of services offered by the aid organisation”, Plan International achieved an overall score of 1.5 and a recommendation rate of 98 percent.

Improve living conditions!

Being born in a developing country usually means lifelong poverty and, above all, a lack of opportunities.

PLAN INTERNATIONAL is committed to sustainably improving living conditions in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

And very important: they provide help for self-help!

PLAN offers a wide range of ways to help.

The most sustainable one—and the one we chose—is a sponsorship:

  • Supports not only the sponsored child and their family, but also the community.
  • Help for self-help. PLAN’s programme work sustainably transforms the entire region.
  • Promoting school attendance and vocational training.
  • Basic medical care for children and young mothers, education about hygiene and diseases
  • “Personal” contact with the sponsored child via letters is possible
  • and much more.
